Dyemaker KIKYU's thoughts on natural dye

At dye shop KIKYU, we offer complex and gentle colors using natural dyes such as plant dyes, indigo dyes, and red ocher dyes.
We also value the spirit of valuing things that are kind to the body and nature, and in line with the times.
Our goal is for natural dyes to be passed down from parent to child, and child to grandchild, through re-dyeing, for 10, 20, or even 30 years from now.

Re-dyeing with plant dyes and indigo dyes

At KIKYU, we will re-dye or re-re-dye your faded or discolored items using natural dyes and indigo dyes.
There are many shops that do re-dyeing using synthetic dyes, but not many that do it using natural dyes.
At KIKYU, we dye and re-dye items using only natural dyes.

Dyeing experience using natural dyes

We offer dyeing experiences using Bengala dye, which can be easily dyed using only water, and indigo dyeing experiences using Indian indigo.

The traditional Bengala dyeing method, known as board-tie shibori, has been around since the Edo period.
Customers can bring in their own items and dye them however they like with Bengala dip dyeing and indigo dyeing.
For customers who come empty-handed, we will provide tote bags and T-shirts.
